DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01: Delhi - Leh ( 3500 metres).

On arrival at Leh, our representative will receive you at airport and will assist you with a smooth transfer to hotel. Check in to your hotel and remaining time free at leisure, so as to help your body with the acclimatization at this altitude. When travelling from a lower altitude region to a higher altitude region in just 01 – 02 hours of travel duration, the body needs some time to adjust the change in its environment. In the afternoon if you feel like, you can take an hour’s walk to the local market which in turn will help you acclimatization as well. However it is advisable to avoid anything strenuous, on first day.

 

 

Day 02: In Leh, walking sightseeing.

After having leisurely breakfast proceed for the day sightseeing at 10:00 AM. Lapped in the snow- covered fringes of the Himalayas, Leh has been the center of Tibeto-Buddhist culture since ages. Its colorful gompas have attracted the devout Buddhists from all over the globe. In the afternoon return to your hotel and remaining time free at leisure.

Day Sightseeing: Shanti Stupa, Sankar Monastery and Leh Market .

 

 

Day 03: Leh – Khardunga La (5,602 metres) - Nubra Valley (3048 metres). Sightseeing

( 120 Kms / 05 - 06 Hours approx .)

After having leisurely breakfast drive to Nubra Valley at 09:00 AM, via Khardungla Pass at 5602 metres, one of the world's highest motorable pass. Khardung La pass offers amazing views of the valley and the roads winding up the mountain. The valley on the other side of the pass, the Nubra Valley, was on the trade route from Leh to Kashgar via Saser and Korakoram passes. Apart from unparallel trekking opportunities the valley houses several Buddhist monasteries. This valley separates Ladakh from the Karakoram Ranges and the famous Siachen Glacier lies to the north of the valley. Drive further to Hunder to visit the sand dunes. Enjoy camel ride on double humped Bactrian camel, these two humped camels are natives of Mongolia in central Asia and were brought to Nubra Valley during the golden silk route trade era. After spending some time at hunder visit Diskit Monastery. Later drive to your Camps and relax. Enjoy your dinner at camps.

Day Sightseeing: Hunder and Diskit Monastery.

 

 

Day 04: Nubra - Alchi, enroute sightseeing. (3,100 metres) (215 Kms / 06 - 07 Hours approx.)

After having leisurely breakfast drive to Alchi at 08:00 AM, via Khardungla Pass. Enroute visit Sangam (conflunce of Indus and Zanskar River near Nimoo), Pather Sahib an important Sikh Pilgrimage Site and Hall of Fame (Museum which was built in memory of the brave soldiers who lost their lives fighting for India at the Indo-Pakistan war). Later on arrival at Alchi, check in to your Guest House and remaining time free at leisure. Enjoy your dinner in Guest House.

Day Sightseeing : Sangam, Pather Sahib Gurudwara and Hall of Fame.

 

 

Day 05: Alchi - Lamayuru, Day Hike around Lamayuru. (3726 meters). (Driving : 56 Kms / 01 – 02 Hours approx.)
After having breakfast drive to Lamayuru at 08:00 AM. On arrival at Lamayuru, check in to your hotel and later proceed for the day hike around the village. The hike to nearby villages will reflect the indigenous colours of the lifestyle of Indo-Tibetans. It opens doors for witnessing the rich history of the region that can be witnessed in the scriptoriums and walls of ancient monasteries of Ladakh. In the afternoon return to hotel and relax. Enjoy your dinner at hotel.

 

 

Day 06: Lamayuru - Kargil War Memorial, Dras – Lamayuru. (Driving, one side : 156 Kms / 04 – 05 Hours approx.)
After having an early breakfast drive to Kargil War Memorial, Dras at 07:00 AM. The memorial houses some of the major sequence of events that happened during the course of the war along with details of the Indian army personnel, who sacrificed their lives in the process of recapturing some of the peaks occupied by the Pakistan army; like the Tiger Hill and Tololong. In the afternoon drive back to Lamayuru and relax. Enjoy your dinner at hotel.

Day Sightseeing: Kargil War Memorial, Dras

 

 

Day 07: Lamayuru – Leh. ( Driving : 115 Kms / 03 Hours approx.)

After having leisurely breakfast visit Lamayuru Monastery. The monastery is ancient, built into the 'moonscape'. It has some beautiful frescoes and frightening masks. After spending some time at Monastery drive to Leh. On arrival at Leh check in to your hotel and remaining time free at leisure.

 

 

 

Day 08: Leh - Pangong (Altitude : 4250 Metres) - Leh ( Driving, One side : 150 Kms / 04 Hours approx.)
After having an early breakfast drive to Pangong Lake at 07:00 AM, upstream along the right bank of the Indus river via Shey, Thiksey monastery. Pass the Karu village and encounter the Chemdey monastery and continue along the steep road side to cross Chang La 5360 meters with a temple and prayer flags to welcome. A leisure walk on the shore of the lake will let you enjoy the interplay of colors of the Pangong. It is one of the largest brackish lake in Asia. The lake sprawls in India as well as China. Later after spending some time at Pangong drive back to Leh. You will return Leh by evening.

 

 

Day 09: In Leh, Free day.

The day will be free for leisure activities.

 

 

Day 10: Leh Departure.

After breakfast our representative will assist you with a smooth transfer for your flight back to home.
